A difficult week

Only the middle of the week and we have experienced so much turmoil already. For me it began with the disappointing outcome of the Venezuelan presidential election and the ongoing violence in the country. Not that I am entirely in support of the opposition but I think Venezuela needs a change because the Chavistas have been exercising unrestrained control for too long and they have failed the country miserably. Besides, they stole the election from the people.
Then the Boston Bombing was the most shocking and alarming news for the running community. It is hard to imagine targeting a marathon event in such despicable manner. But the running community is resilient and now more than ever we remain united and determined to embrace life as we runners do. We will defeat evil and terror with good because the true essence of humanity is good, and evil can only triumph in the absence of good. We will continue to run for good causes, for the cure of diseases, and for the hope of a more peaceful, just and humane world.
Hard for me especially this week has been dealing with an injury and not being able to run. Running is my best therapy and I have not been able to release some of my emotions and stress the way I normally do. Maybe that's why I have been writing so much because I am trying to cope.
See, I am feeling better already. Have a great day!
