A Good Day at Wabash Workshop

Today after a long morning session of meetings, several of us went out to the Dolphin Dock in Port Aransas on the Gulf of Mexico. We also visited very briefly some of the birding trails and then headed back to the Mustang Island Conference Center for another long evening session that lasted until almost midnight. Although I am feeling tired, my time here has been productive as I am finalizing my book proposal and writing a summer research grant. During our meeting sessions we have addressed important topics related to our academic professional experiences and about our unique contributions to the academia. Most importantly, this workshop has brought us together to reconnect and encourage each other. I always leave this gathering of friends feeling invigorated and more excited about the work I do in academics. The people in our Wabash group are from Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Venezuela, and the US.

This is my friend Deborah Junker from Brazil and she teaches at CTS.
