Latino/a Scholars Workshop
I am leaving for a long weekend workshop in Corpus Christi, TX, tomorrow. There, I will meet a group of about 20 Latino professors of Theology from various universities from around the country. This is the second gathering of this group, with one final summer workshop scheduled for July 2013. I am excited and looking forward to seeing them all. l truly made some incredible friends among them. They are a group of critical thinkers who also know how to have fun. At our last summer gathering we worked hard but we also enjoyed ourselves immensely. One evening we all went out to a local Latin club in Indianapolis and danced until we dropped. The only problem I am having is the timing for this winter workshop. I am feeling utterly overwhelmed with so much work to accomplish this semester and with so little time to do it all. I am also worried about my little dog. With two more conferences away from home in the next two months, I am afraid she is going to feel abandoned. It took her a few days after I returned from South America to become her old self; my poor baby. But I will make it up to her and take her for long walks in the park when I return.
